How big are the bins/How much do the bins hold?

Sydneyshred offers a secure document disposal bin to meet the needs of our customers. Our standard bin sizes include:

 

  • 240-litre bin: Holds approximately 6 archive boxes or up to 64kg of paper.
  • Dimension: Wide 57 cm, Deep 74cm, Height 107 cm

 

We also offer custom bin sizes to meet the specific needs of our clients. Our team can work with you to determine the best bin size for your business based on your volume of paper, available storage space, and other factors.

What can go into the document bin?

Great question! Sydneyshred’s document disposal bins are designed to securely dispose of a range of confidential paper-based documents. Here’s a list of the types of documents that can go into our document bins:

We accept most types of paper-based documents. However, we do ask that you remove any large metal objects or binders prior to placing the documents in our bins.

 

Please note that we cannot accept certain materials in our document bins, such as plastics, or other non-paper items. If you have any questions about what can and cannot go into our document disposal bins, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Do you collect archive boxes as they are?

Yes, Sydneyshred can collect archive boxes for shredding and disposal. In fact, archive boxes are a common item that we collect from our clients. Archive boxes are typically used for long-term storage of documents, and they can hold a large amount of paper.

 

When we collect archive boxes, we securely transport them to our shredding facility, where we destroy the contents of the boxes and recycle the shredded paper.

 

If you have any specific requirements for the collection and disposal of archive boxes, such as a particular schedule or volume, our team can work with you to develop a customized solution that meets your needs.

What kind of electronic materials would be into the bins?

Sydneyshred’s document disposal bins are designed to securely dispose of paper-based confidential documents. We do not accept electronic materials mixed with documents in our bins.

 

However, we do offer secure e-waste disposal services to ensure the secure and environmentally responsible disposal of your electronic devices, such as:

 

  • Cameras & Photographic equipment.
  • Hard Drives.

  • Portable devices eg. Two-way radios, pagers, MP3 players

Can I have the bins more than 4 weeks?

At Sydneyshred, we offer our clients flexible periods for our document disposal bins. While our standard rental period is four weeks, we understand that some clients may require additional time to fill the bins.

 

If you need to keep the bins for longer than four weeks, please contact us and we can discuss your specific needs and arrange for an extended rental period. We will work with you to ensure that the period meets your requirements and schedule regular pickups to keep the bins from overflowing.

 

It’s important to note that prolonged storage of confidential documents can increase the risk of security breaches and identity theft. We recommend that you dispose of your confidential documents as soon as possible to minimize this risk.

Can I drop in, or does the bin need to come to me?

Can I fill the bin on the spot rather than holding it for 2 weeks?

If you require a faster turnaround, you can schedule an on-site shredding appointment with SydneyShred, This allows for a quicker and more convenient shredding process, and you can witness the shredding process firsthand to ensure the secure handling of your confidential information. This option is often preferred by clients who require faster turnaround times or have a large amount of documents to shred.

However, if you prefer to use the secure shred bin and have it collected for off-site shredding, SydneyShred can still accommodate that option as well, You can fill the secure shred bin on the spot and request SydneyShred to collect it for off-site shredding. We will then securely transport the bin to our facility for shredding and disposal, providing a secure and reliable shredding service.

Can you provide a certificate of destruction for my records?

Absolutely. We understand the importance of maintaining a record of the secure shredding and disposal of your confidential materials. That’s why we provide a certificate of destruction to all of our customers upon completion of their shredding job.

 

The certificate includes the date of service, and a statement of our guarantee that the materials were securely destroyed. You can use this certificate for your own records or to demonstrate compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Do you offer on-site or off-site shredding services?

We offer both on-site and off-site shredding services to meet the diverse needs of our clients. With our on-site shredding service, we will come to your location and shred your confidential documents and materials on-site using our mobile shredding trucks.
